How the club operates

As a focus for bushwalkers based around Warrnambool, the Warrnambool Bushwalkers is an incorporated non-profit organisation registered on 17/12/1986 with number A0012133Z initially as Warrnambool Walkers.

Our financial year is from November to October, with our AGM being on the second Tuesday of November. The small committee that runs the club usually meet before the monthly club meeting on the second Tuesday of the month. The 2025–26 Committee members are: Lothar Satzke, Gwenda Turland, Christine McAuley, Coralie Ginn, Dina Selman, Khyl Knight, Pauline Cottrill, and Rob Cannon.

Our membership year is from July to June. Our annual membership fee of $40 includes an emailed monthly newsletter, as many walks as you care to do, and membership of Bushwalking Victoria with its insurance cover. If you join the club after April 1, it's $45 for 15 months membership. If you belong to another Bushwalking Victoria affiliated club, the membership fee is $15.

We are affiliated with Bushwalking Victoria which provides a voice for over 60 bushwalking clubs and organises an insurance policy for its affiliates. About $25 of each membership fee goes to this insurance and Bushwalking Victoria.
